Organic Integrity

by Angus Cann on October 24, 2023

Organic Integrity

At Whole Foods Market, we’ve always been dedicated to supporting Organic agriculture. In fact, we helped to develop the very first USDA Organic standards! But we didn’t stop there. Every year each one of our more than 500 stores is visited by a third-party certifier who ensures that we are properly storing, handling and merchandising our organic products in order to maintain their organic integrity.

“I’m incredibly passionate about the work we do as a Certified Organic retailer because I think it just exposes more people to the concept of “Organic” – it’s important for our waterways, for our ecosystems, for our natural habitats, for pollinators…”

Angela DeStefanis, Senior Organic Retail Certification Advisor
