In 1995, Allagash founder Rob Tod had a vision: start small, brew excellent, surprising beer with intention, and serve the local community. Since then, the business, the team, and the catalogue of beers have all grown, and so has the impact that Allagash has had, both close to home and across the entire beer industry. All while remaining true to their motto: We’re Good Together!
“I used to walk into accounts with a jug of beer that I had poured from the fermentation tank, pour it in a clear glass for the decision maker, maybe the bar owner or, or the bar manager. And they immediately saw it was cloudy…The first thing they said is, what’s wrong with it? Why does it look like that? And they’d taste it and smell it. And they said, you know, why does it look like that? And if I was lucky, they would say, I’ll put it on, but it’s not gonna sell…And indeed, it didn’t sell. I think I kept a lot of accounts back then in the Portland area just by stopping by and having a beer every few days. ” Rob Tod, Founder, Allagash Brewing Company
