A Noble Plant: Coffee Sourcing at Whole Foods Market

As a 20-year veteran of the coffee industry, Kelly Amoroso brings an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge about the coffee and tea industries to her role as Senior Buyer. But it’s her passion for coffee and tea producers that drew her to Whole Foods Market. Our sourcing philosophy pushes us to use coffee and tea production as an engine for prosperity and growth around the world; ensuring that growers, imports, exports, and customers all benefit from each cup!

A Noble Plant: Coffee Sourcing at Whole Foods Market

“When we’re finding a new farming group that we want to buy from, we kind of get to know them and, and ask them, well, what are your core values? How do you source? How do you pay your pickers? How do you provide lodging and benefits for them? What are the types of product that you like to produce? And then, what do they do with those profits? Are they reinvesting them into the product or also in the community?”
